As teenagers with haemophilia grow older and become more independent from the adults who have been managing their haemophilia for them, it is important for them to approach this transition with patience and with the support of those around them.
The teenage toolkit is a resource that helps guide and support teenagers through the process of managing their haemophilia independently. It’s structured to facilitate conversations between them and their healthcare provider, so they can address important aspects of their care.
This resource has been designed for parents, healthcare professionals and teenagers.
It was developed in association with Maj Friberg Birkedal, Specialist Nurse, Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Section 5002, Rigshospitalet, and Malin X. Axelsson, Paediatric Nurse, Coagulation Clinic Reception, Skåne University Hospital, Malmö, Sweden.
